Your Dog's Personal Space
People love dogs because they provide protection and companionship. At certain times, they know when we to be there when we are down. They can sense that we need someone to be there when we feel sad. In the absence of our loved ones, dogs just happen to be there. That is why people build a special bond with their dogs because they are more than just a pet. They are part of the family.
And to show our appreciation for our favourite four-legged companion, we provide them with their needs. Every day, we give these lovely pets their food. In addition, we ensure that they get the proper nutrition that will promote their health and wellbeing. Aside from their food, we give them their medication against illnesses. And for their comfort, we set aside a place for them in our home.
Some people choose to let their dogs sleep in bed with them while others prefer to just let their pups lie else. Whether on the living room floor or in the bedroom with their owner, dogs are just happy to have a cosy place where they can rest their tired paws after a hard day of running and playing.
Like people, dogs are also entitled to a spot to call their own. Although there is nothing wrong with having to share the bed with their owner, every dog needs to have its own area, and with its own bed. Also, you and your dogs need to have separate sleeping areas for sanitary and health purposes. Just think about those lice and other creepy crawlies swarming on your dog's head and moving onto yours. Similarly, your dog does not like your creepy crawlies either. Thus, having separate spaces will be a win-win situation for the both of you.
Pick a spot that is ideal for your pup. Make sure you clean it before you settle your dog on the area. Do this by sweeping or mopping its surface. Spray some insecticides to rid the area of fleas, bugs and other harmful bacteria. Once your pet settles over his space, regularly clean it up to keep it clean and sanitary
